At ShowmeCAST 135 we talked about the end of digital stores in Nintendo Wii U e Nintendo 3DS. As of the end of March 2023, it will no longer be possible to buy games for these consoles, it will only be possible to purchase games on Nintendo Switch. It will still be possible to re- the games and DLCs that players have and they will be able to have software updates and have their online mode available. The announcement was made in 2021 and was already awaited by fans, who in recent weeks have started buying the games they wanted so much on the platforms, as from now on it will no longer be possible by legal means.

In this week's episode, we discuss the impacts of this change on the preservation of video game history, a subject that is little discussed and which is extremely important. As an art form almost always linked to a profit-oriented company, something like the preservation of works becomes something secondary or non-existent on the part of publishers. We talked about how piracy is an ally of media history conservation and what we as consumers can do about it.

Since its announcement, the continuation of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the most anticipated games in the video game industry. Still without showing many details of its gameplay, its producer Eiji Aonuma held a demonstration of the game's news in a video of just over 10 minutes. We talked at ShowmeCAST 135 about the impact of all these changes and how few new mechanics manage to open up a huge range of possibilities for things players will be able to do and new features that will be discovered for years.

The gameplay featured the islands in the skies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as the great novelty in exploration by Hyrule, the ground part being just a new modified version of what we saw in the previous game. Full of news, the player will be able to explore the entire region available in the previous game with the addition of new areas.
