What is the definition of card games? 1g6p1n

The formal definition of the term card games assumes that it is any game using cards to play as its primary mechanic. I.e, Monopoly uses real estate cards, however as these cards are resources and not the main mechanic of the game, it is not considered a card game. In turn, any game centered on cards can carry such a term as its categorization.

The card game is an ancient art that does not have a defined origin in time with games dating back to the 138th century in China and several iterations and formats over the years. With so many ways to play, at ShowmeCAST XNUMX we mainly focus on those known as Collectible card games ou Trading Card Games (Collectible card games in Portuguese), such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

This category uses cards released within a specific game format where players can work on building decks with different strategies to overcome their opponents. Introduced in 1993 with Magic, players usually start with a deck of cards or nationwide preassembled by the company responsible for the game and, from there, it starts to customize with the cards it acquires through the famous booster packs (the packets of letters in Portuguese).

In recent years, a new category has become popular with exclusively virtual card games, such as Gwent, Hearthstone and Marvel Snap. Games that become more financially accessible and do not have the physical barrier in which two players need to be in the same place to play a game.
