ShowmeCAST starts with an explanation of the COP26, also known as the UN Conference of the Parties on Climate Change. Held for two weeks in the city of Glasgow, the event aimed to reinforce the measures stated in the last presentation, in which the grandiose Paris Agreement was signed, which, among other prospects, several countries committed to preventing the planet from increasing 1.5? °C until 2050.
The new meeting, however, aims to be more ambitious and propose a limit of no more than 2ºC, in addition to other measures such as investing in clean energy, containing deforestation, reducing the use of coal as a source of energy and, above all, stopping the Global Warming and the spread of extreme climate change.
Global Warming, that is, the increase in the average temperatures of the planet, is resulting from the intensification of the Greenhouse Effect. As a result, our planet begins to suffer major climatic fluctuations such as huge storms, hurricanes, droughts, large-scale natural fires, increased desertification processes and the melting of the polar ice caps, which brings the inevitable rise in sea level, leaving parts of of submerged continents, altering ecosystems and extinguishing species forever.
