This week's ShowmeCAST starts with our initial impressions of what happened, which at first seems really interesting. Activision Blizzard had been experiencing major structural problems since numerous reports of harassment, sexual abusele and even suicide came to the public's attention through a series of reports. The reputation of one of the greatest game publishers in history would be tarnished in an almost unforgettable way.
Another internal problem was how management was handling its business. Since 2013 the franchise Call of Duty went through reformulations and policies that did not please the players, and the franchise ended up in a vicious cycle of many mistakes and few successes, in addition to questionable decisions within the studios, which limited the creative freedom of the developers to focus on the production of the saga.

The purchase heats up the debate over Microsoft creating a monopoly on giant studios after also buying Zenimax, the parent company behind Bethesda and other major studios, creators of franchises like The Elder Scrolls e Doom.
And if you want to know more about this whole story, don't forget to listen to the new episode of ShowmeCAST, your Espaitec's technology, games, science, culture and many curiosities about what is happening in the world. The program is available on services such as Spotify e Anchor.
