A Cold War it was the historical period in which, for the first time, man also began to explore space. With a technological and space war, both the former Soviet Union and the United States began to open the universe and, with that, they brought great milestones to the history of humanity and infinite possibilities that are still being processed. But before trying to colonize other planets, we can learn and know more about this historical period with the Space Adventure Exhibition presented by Banco Santander. 27523n
For the first time outside the United States, Space Adventure is one of the largest collections of original artifacts in the world. NASA, gathered by the COSMOSPHERE Space Education Museum and Center of Hutchinson, Kansas, concerning the Projects MERCURY, GEMINI and APOLLO, responsible for man going to the moon.
“One small step for man, one giant leap for humanity”. Coined by Neil Armstrong, the first man in history to set foot on the moon, the phrase sums up what it is and what will always be ed as one of humanity's greatest adventures — the search for new frontiers in outer space.

With more than 300 original items from the US space agency, the exhibition allows you to live a unique experience, such as being able to closely check the Houston control table and the rocket launch countdown clock, spacesuits and computers. onboard the Apollo Capsule, the complete collection of still and film cameras used to capture the famous images of the Moon, the full menu of foods from the Apollo project, plus a sample of moonstone and many other historical items. The place also has a 5D cinema that shows a video of the rocket landing on the moon, with chairs that move, rain and even wind to make the experience unique.
The entire technology part of the first space missions is also covered in the exhibition, which brings to the public engines, the first computers used in the 60's, tools, boxes for collecting lunar material, the control s of the spacecraft, the radios used for communication between the ships and Earth, and the devices that filtered the air in the small modules. And if all this was important to guarantee the trip and the lives of the crew, we can't forget about cameras and camcorders that showed the rest of the world what only astronauts saw up close: the Earth is blue — and most importantly, round. !

The exhibition starts with an explanatory video about space missions, then we have a whole room dedicated to showing the clothes, food, parts and prototypes of rockets and entire galleries with photos and videos of the missions. Then we went to a short talk explaining how computers and control rooms worked. We headed for an immersive preview of a rocket taking off. And we have the final room with information about the Apollo 11 mission and the arrival of man on the Moon.
Combining entertainment and education, the exhibition also features a wide range of images and films that have documented operations throughout history. Teams of Brazilian specialists from USP and ITA created informative content for visitors, who will also have trained and specialized monitors, guided tour and scheduled lectures on the subject.
The exhibition, which would only be here in São Paulo until the 25th of October, was so successful that it was extended until December 25th.
