Comes to Nintendo Switch Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, two great games in one package

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury finally comes to Nintendo Switch. The adventure of the iconic Super Mario on Wii U is finally re-released on the hybrid console of the Japanese company, which has even increased the package with an unprecedented platform game. 1t236r

Super Mario 3D World doesn't bring as many new features compared to the original, but Bowser's fury appears as content that appeals even to those who already knew the re-released content. The new adventure is competent in bringing fun to the player for a few hours.

Following in the tradition of re-releasing the Wii U's excellent library on Nintendo Switch, the Kyoto giant now launches Mario's journey from the previous console. Originally released in 2013, Super Mario 3D World little has changed in its new version, but it has the adaptations expected for the company's current platform.

Super Mario 3D World follow the game style Super Mario 3D Land, released in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo's exclusive handheld console. With the camera fixed in predetermined places, the character must follow, in each phase, from a starting point to the pole to the end, just like in the 2D games of the franchise, such as Super Mario World, for example. However, as it is a three-dimensional game, the scenarios assume greater complexity and variety of challenges.

Super Mario 3D World mixes 2D with 3D.

The player is faced with several worlds, each with a series of stages to explore. All in Super Mario 3D World is complimentary, and the stages are probably the game's high point. They are varied and as fun as any Mario game. Throughout the game, the player should not get the impression of repetition, even though the main activities are basically running and jumping on enemies.

to advance in Super Mario 3D World, you'll have to go through stages that clear the way to Bowser's castle in each world. Boss battles, then, are recurring, and the difficulty progression is well balanced. Not all stages are mandatory, so less skilled players may feel comfortable.

In each stage, the player will have an amount of green stars to collect, and eventually one or another stage will require a minimum amount of these stars to proceed in the adventure. So ignoring them is not a good idea, and the challenge of collecting them brings great fun to the game.

Overall, for veteran players, Super Mario 3D World doesn't require a very high skill level, at least in the main story. Like a good Mario game, 3D World has special worlds, and that's where the real challenge begins. With these extra levels, the game has a lot of content, enough for a few dozen hours of fun.

Small details make the difference v1t5b

Changes on top of pre-existing content from Super Mario 3D World were punctual, but enough to improve the game experience. On the Wii U, the stamps — collectibles present in each of the stages — were used for the player to post drawings on the Miiverse, Nintendo's former social network.

For the Nintendo Switch version, Big N made a photo mode similar to that of Super Mario Odyssey, with some image editing options. The stamps are now used to enhance player photos. It's great to see that Nintendo has put stamps to new use, as collecting them through the levels is part of the fun and the Miiverse do not exist anymore.

As for visuals, Super Mario 3D World It was always a very beautiful game. Extremely colorful — and with vivid colors — the game stands out for its glow and light effects. On the Wii U, it ran at a resolution of 720p on the TV, with the image duplicated on the screen of the GamePad (video game controller) at 480p.

For the Switch, the resolution remains at 720p in handheld mode, but reaches 1080p on television. Super Mario 3D World It's not a game with a lot of on-screen elements (compared to newer games), but the increase in resolution is enough to highlight its visual qualities. Distant parts of the scene, which were previously blurred, now gain prominence.

When it comes to performance, nothing has changed — which is great. The game ran perfectly at 60 frames per second on the Wii U, and the Nintendo Switch is no different. For a platform game, fluid movements help to execute precise movements.

Still in technical aspects, it is worth mentioning that the game is so well adapted to the Nintendo Switch that there are no loading screens - something that is repeated in Bowser's fury almost all the time.

Super Mario 3D World is a co-op game for up to four players, where you can choose between the characters Mario, Luigi, Toad and, for the first time in a main Mario title, Peach — the game's story remains the same, however: defeating Bowser, who has changed of focus and kidnapped another princess.

Each character has its own skill. Considering Mario the default character, Luigi can jump higher, Toad runs faster, and Peach can glide for a brief period after a jump. There is still one more controllable character, but we prefer to instill the reader's curiosity and avoid the spoiler.

A slight change that Nintendo made to this new version, compared to the Wii U original, was that all characters now run faster and jump higher — Luigi and Toad therefore jump and run even higher, respectively. This resulted in a much easier game.

A very welcome addition to Super Mario 3D World is that, for the first time, a main Super Mario game can be played completely online, something players have long been waiting for. As we received early access to the game, we were not able to test the performance on the internet. However, from the description present in the game itself, it is concluded that the connection is made only between people on the friends list, which should limit the chances of playing online — which is a negative point.

Special mention should be made of the soundtrack by Super Mario 3D World, possibly the best of the entire franchise. The songs shine and stick in the head, whether in unreleased compositions or new arrangements for old tracks.

powerful and agile 6qn6l

Like a good Mario game, in Super Mario 3D World there is an interesting and varied range of special powers that characters have at their disposal. To the traditional fire flower are ed the clothes tanooki, the boomerang flower, the mega mushroom and many others. The main item, which appears on the cover of the game, is the Super Bell, which gives the character the outfit of a cat.

The stages are well designed to serve as a playground for each of Mario's powers and the gang. While wearing the cat outfit, characters can hit enemies, jump farther, and even climb walls. This last ability was also slightly modified in the Nintendo Switch version: characters climb higher when using power.

Bowser's Fury, Bowser's Fury 3x1u61

Bowser's fury is the pleasant surprise that accompanies the new version of Super Mario 3D World. It is an unprecedented adventure, which works as a mixture of the game that comes with Super Mario Odyssey.

Bowser is furious in Bowser's Fury.

In this new game, Mario is transported to an archipelago dedicated to cats — practically every aspect of the scenario refers to cats, from enemies, trees, birds, the shape of rocks and even a rainbow.

Upon arriving at the place, Mario is faced with a giant Bowser and taken by a black substance, which covers his entire body and makes him furious and throwing fire throughout the archipelago. Faced with the situation in which his father finds himself, Bowser Jr. asks Mario for help to get everything back to normal. The request turns into an unusual partnership between the two characters (Mario and Bowser Jr.), who have already clashed in some games before.

The gameplay aspects are the junction between Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario Odyssey. While Mario has the moves and powers of 3D World, the exploration follows what was seen in Odyssey, with a large area that can be explored freely and there are several "moons" to collect. In this case, the moons give way to Cat Shines, medallions that are shaped like cats.

In Lake Lapcat almost everything is shaped like a cat.

From time to time, the giant Bowser will wake up and start throwing fire all over the archipelago. In these moments, Lake Lapcat, as the place is called, becomes a dangerous place, since Bowser will always throw fire in Mario's direction. For the region to return to normal, the player must collect a cat shine or just wait until Bowser calms down. Regardless of the solution found, Mario's arch-nemesis will return to causing problems after a while.

All over Lake Lapcat, there are several cat medallions scattered around, such as the moons from Super Mario Odyssey. As the player progresses in his collections, new developments increase the challenge and new Cat Shines appear and become available.

The objective is to collect Cat Shines.

It is worth noting that every time Bowser appears to terrorize the place, some of his fires fall in certain places and become platforms for Mario to reach new places, and some Cat Shines are only achievable that way. The variation in level design is interesting and for a long time makes the player always look for changes to take advantage of Bowser's moment of fury.

Fires fall across the island and platforms are created when Bowser awakens.
Platforms are created whenever Bowser awakens.

On the other hand, there are some places that reveal Cat Shines only after Bowser hits them with his fire. For this, Mario must go to these locations to induce the giant enemy to shoot where he should. The problem with this is that it is common for these to be the last locations the player will have to explore at the end of the game, and it is not so interesting to wait for Bowser to appear to run to the location.

unlike Super Mario 3D World, Bowser's fury only s one or two simultaneous players, and no online play option. While the first player controls Mario, the second takes control of Bowser Jr., who helps collect items and beat enemies.

In single player, Mario will still have Bowser Jr.'s help, but he will be controlled by artificial intelligence. Fortunately, there's the option to set how much Bowser Jr. will help, if a lot, little or nothing, which determines the difficulty level of Bowser's fury.

Speaking of difficulty level, the entire Bowser's fury it's easy and shouldn't give a lot of work to veteran players of the franchise, especially for those who have played Super Mario 3D World — which, by the way, is a much more difficult game than Bowser's Fury.

For those who are in doubt about the duration of Bowser's fury, the campaign lasts about five hours of gameplay. However, collecting all Cat Shines it takes some work and extends the time by somewhere between three or four hours.

The Fury on Nintendo Switch 6f3z

Bowser's fury It's a beautiful game with a lot going on at the same time — the entire archipelago, which can be freely explored, is bigger than the largest of the world's maps. Super Mario Odyssey. The resolution used in the game is dynamic and can drop considerably at times. When this happens, the drop in image quality is noticeable, but luckily the game remains beautiful and, above all, tries to maintain itself at 60 frames per second.

“Try” because there are times, especially at the end of the game and during the last battle against Bowser, when the frame rate drops a lot, and the result is uncomfortable. Fortunately the game remains stable for most of the time.

Another factor to note is that the frame rate is reduced when the Nintendo Switch is in handheld mode. Possibly it runs at a rate of 30 fps. While a high frame rate is more enjoyable to play, the result isn't bad at 30 fps, as long as it stays constant. Fortunately, the Switch does the trick when in handheld mode.

Lots of quality content 1y5n18

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a highly anticipated release, but it brings unprecedented high quality content. The pack has not only the amazing Wii U game, with all the expected technical improvements and a few details regarding the gameplay, but it also has a beautiful and exciting adventure against a giant Bowser.

The only way not to recommend Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is if you've played the Wii U version and don't plan on returning to the Sprixie Kingdom. In this case, the unreleased content may not be enough to make a launch worth the price. However, if you're looking to return to 3D World or if you've never played the original version, here's a masterpiece that's definitely worth playing and replaying!

Super Mario 3D World it's a game that's always worth revisiting, and it contains a lot of content. Bowser's fury It may not be that long, but it doesn't leave anything to be desired in of fun. The games will be available from February 12, and the digital version can be pre-ordered for R$299 on the official website of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
