This Monday (13/02) an outsourced transport system, called TaxiGov, started to work on Federal District and has a differential: it will serve exclusively public servers and employees of the Federal Executive acting in the Federal District.
The service page says that it is an “innovative” system, but just by looking at the system screens we can see that the application works in the same way as Uber. to ask for a TaxiGov simply request your ride, indicating the place of departure and destination on the map, fill in your details (you must have a SIAPE registration) and wait for your car to arrive. He will be identified and at the end of the race, he will be asked to evaluate the driver. () It is also possible to schedule races, just like in Uber e Cabify.
At this early stage, the service will only work for Ministry of Planning officials, but the plan is to expand the TaxiGov for more federal government employees in Brasilia starting March 20. With the adoption of this tool, the government estimates savings of R$ 20 million per year, as official government cars will no longer be used to transport employees.
The application is available for Android, iOS e Windows Phone and it is also possible to order a taxi by website or at the Call Center by phone (61) 3003-0727. The company hired to provide the service was Shalom Ltda., which won the tender concluded in November 2016, and if Uber, Cabify, Easy Taxi or another company had entered the dispute, it could have been chosen to provide the service.
