O TCL Fold'n Roll is a concept of foldable and rollable cell phone — see the name — presented by the Chinese company TCL yesterday, April 14th. Despite the multinational having made the announcement that it would launch its first foldable in 2021, the Fold'n Roll it is still in the research phase; even so, this did not stop TCL from showing some concepts of the cell phone that turns into a tablet, reaching the 10-inch screen size mark. 6f5k1s
According to specifications provided by the company itself and published in the international media, the foldable and rollable cell phone will have 6,87 inches standard size, 8,85 inches while being unfolded and merciful 10 inches when being unrolled. This means three options for the consumer to enjoy all possible content and, if built with prudence, many possibilities for application developers.
Apparently, the Fold'n Roll also comes with a pen in the best Stylus — pardon the pun — which can be seen at the bottom of one of the concept photos. In addition, one side of the smartphone is equipped with a kind of hinge, which makes it possible to unroll the device.
What is the difference between the foldable and rollable cell phone, and the foldable ones already available? 455849
Well, the fundamental difference between this folding and rollable cell phone model and the existing folding models is precisely in the addition of a word: rollable. Foldable cell phones are already present in reality, like the get out of the cellphone business — but a device that mixes the two characteristics will be quite innovative on the market.
As mentioned briefly at the beginning of the article, with LG leaving the market, TCL is looking for a space in this segment represented by foldable cell phones. The company also recently stated that it will try to produce a foldable smartphone with a more affordable price, in contrast to the models on the market.
Unfortunately for us, TCL has not shown any further technical specifications, nor has it announced what stage of research the company is in. We can only observe the company's social networks and hope for updates, which, in of a concept, may never arrive.
