With stories of suspense and horror, list brings classic movies. Discover the 10 best films based on the work of American writer Stephen King

Stephen King is a 73-year-old American writer. His work focuses on tales and stories of horror, fiction, fantasy, suspense and supernatural horror. His first work published by a traditional publisher is Carrie, from 1974, when he was still an unknown 27-year-old. Carrie tells the not-so-nice story of a girl who can move objects with the power of her mind. The book was a success right away, in 1976 it was adapted for film (there is also another newer adaptation, from 2013). 362a6s

The author has published over 60 books, mostly horror and thriller novels. However, his work is not limited to literary fiction. Stephen King also is the author of more than 200 short stories, most of which have been compiled into books. Not to mention the non-fiction works that range from studies, articles and essays on literature to even baseball chronicles.

We also pack any Stephen King also has a very strong relationship with cinema, most of his works of fiction have already been adapted and there are still some that are in the production process, such as the books the dance of death e LOVE: Lisey's Story. The author is responsible for nearly 20 screenplays that he has produced for film (some of them based on his own works) and other projects he is also co-author of, such as the comic book CreepshowOf 1982.

King is an author with a career that anyone would envy. His works are received with great prestige by the public and critics, and there is always a producer or directors interested in adapting his works for the cinema. However, not all of his works, including his adaptations, are good. According to Techradar, the film Terror Train, 1986 (written and directed by Stephen King); the book and the movie Cell phone, 2006 and the TV series rift In Time, 1995 are terrible. But most of his works are excellent and that's what we're going to talk about in this list.

Indirectly the film discusses religion, very controlling families and even feminism.

Absolute horror movie classic, The illuminated, or The Shining, in English, directed and scripted by none other than Stanley Kubrick, responsible for countless other classics such as 2001 — A Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange e eyes wide shut, is a film that, unfortunately, did not please the author of the original work. However, it was very well received by the public and to this day it is one of the main objects of study for filmmakers and film students, due to its technical genius and originality of the work.

The illuminated follows the story of Jack Torrance, a writer and alcoholic who is hired to take care of a giant hotel surrounded by snow and which only opens its doors to customers in the summer. Jack moves into the uninhabited hotel with his wife and son. Jack's job and the haunted hotel leave Jack in his head until very strange things start to happen.
