A City Council approved the bill 349 / 2014, by councilor Adilson Amadeu (PTB), who prohibits the use of private cars for remunerated enger transport. The text awaits the mayor's sanction and has gaps for the Executive's action, leaving it to the City Hall to improve the legislation.
In this way, the City Hall will try to make the service of the Uber does not directly affect the work of taxi drivers of the city, but also will not leave aside the technological evolution of the application. Haddad told the Estadão who is studying models in the world and finding solutions “which preserve the right of taxi drivers, maintain state regulation, but do not close themselves off to technology, which is the quality of service”.

According to the mayor, New York found a good solution to the ime with Uber. “Part of what New York is thinking about doing is what we're imagining”, said.
In the US city, the application operates in various modalities: uberX (economy), UberBlack (luxury car), uberXL (roomy economy), UberSUV (roomy luxury car), uberT (regular taxi) and UberPOOL (which shares the fare with other people who are going to the same region) .
Some say that the municipality cannot regulate private transport. However, in a recent interview with President Dilma Rouseff, she declared that she does not intend to interfere in the matter, despite having declared that Uber “takes jobs from a lot of people”. In addition, the application has restricted availability, only a few cities have the service; therefore, it is a local interest.
