The service will be available before the Carnival and will help foreign tourists to get around the city. The option was already available in Colombia's four main cities. According to the company, more than 1.400 partner drivers have learned English with Duolingo. The intention is to expand the model throughout Latin America throughout 2016, starting with the Brazil.
Here, the program will allow drivers to get more trips by learning English and testing their skills with the Duolingo , generating a mutual benefit: on the one hand, drivers who are part of the UberENGLISH will earn more money, on the other hand, s who are not familiar with the Portuguese language can have the comfort of being understood, at a slightly more expensive fare.
