O Rio de Janeiro will win another modality in the Uber. From next Thursday (9th) s will be able to share rides with two other engers who will take a similar route, using the UberPool. According to the company, it is possible to save up to 40% compared to Uber X. 6x184n
O UberPool already exists in 38 cities around the world and debuted in Brazil at the end of April, in São Paulo. According to Uber, 30% of trips on the service were shared, just in the first month of the modality in São Paulo.
In Rio, the app is operating thanks to a court decision. After Mayor Eduardo Paes signed a law that prohibited it in the city, Judge Ana Cecilia Argueso ruled that public bodies cannot make that decision.
How does UberPOOL work? 17462i
- Choose the uberX option in your app and enter your departure location and destination location
- Tap on “set departure location”;
- Make sure you select the “shared car” option – here the price you see is the price you will pay for uberPOOL;
- Click on “Request POOL” and wait for your car;
- Once the driver accepts the trip, you will see his information: name, photo and car details;
- uberPOOL will be able to find another enger who is heading in the same direction as you
- At the end, the value of the trip – the one you saw when requesting your uberPOOL – will normally be charged to your card;
The option is useful for those who want to save money and are not in a hurry to get to their destination, as the races are usually longer.
