apps that do internet calls have already fallen into the daily lives of even the most resistant generations. Today, it is relatively common to see family talking to distant relatives via Skype or Whatsapp, an application that, no matter how bad (I prefer the Hangouts do Google), is almost ubiquitous in computers and notebooks.
On the mobile platform, things change. O Skype or Whatsapp even tried to migrate to smartphones, but was not so successful. Bugs and inconsistencies in its operation made the service less used than other competitors such as Viber, Line e WeChat.
And now, it looks like this fight will get even more interesting. According to the website Android World, there is a beta version of Whatsapp, available on the official website, where you can already see the fields for recording calls made and received. This would be an indication that the app, which already reigns peacefully as the most used instant messages for smartphones and tablets, should soon offer internet calls.
In addition to this information, the website Android Community, citing the CEO of Whatsapp, Jan Koum, informs that the service developers have been working for some time to make the voice calls, but still face some technical difficulties.
According to rumors, the launch of the internet voice calls is already late, but should be announced in the first quarter of 2015.
And this is the cataclysm that the telephone operators had not yet completely suffered. If the Whatsapp achieve the same feat achieved with instant messaging – which ended the use of SMS on many phones – it will be a revolution for the consumer, and a huge loss of revenue for the operators.
O Whatsapp is available for platforms Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and Symbian. To learn more, visit this page.
